Fine concrete finishes and surfaces

Short Course
Tue 23 Feb 2016

We all wish to create smooth, uniform, defect-free concrete finishes. The precast industry with its experience and skilled craftsmanship is able to achieve it every time, so why is it difficult when it comes to site-cast concrete? After all, the concrete mix is the same and while the site conditions are perhaps more onerous there are many similar processes.

This short course will cover:

-Controlling the surface appearance of all types of concrete

-How to specify a fine concrete finish

-How to detail architectural in-situ concrete

-How to ensure good site workmanship with minimum defects

-Reviewing modern precast concrete facades

All the topics covered will provide essential information for those responsible for designing specifying and reviewing architectural concrete finishes.

The course tutor David Bennett is an expert on visual concrete construction and has a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to share.
