Fakro GB’s range of roof windows is among the most diverse currently available. Products combine the best in contemporary styling with thermal efficiency, durability and practicality for the user and installer.
Roof windows are manufactured using only slow growing, close-grain redwood pine which is guaranteed to be knot-free. Using the latest timber lamination technology, all components are vacuum preservative treated and given a three-coat matt, acrylic lacquer finish which requires only periodic cleaning. Externally, timber is covered with UV and weather resistant aluminium cladding. A variety of glazing options are available including acoustic, laminated, security, tinted, obscure, reflective, self-cleaning, stained or energy-efficient triple-glazing. All standard glazing units use a single chambered construction with energy saving panes, each achieving a U-value of 1.0 W/m2K (1.4 W/m2K for the whole window).
Thanks to the topSafe® hardware system which is unique to Fakro, standard windows such as the popular FTP-V centre pivot are characterized by increased safety and burglary resistance. Longer and thicker screws driven into the timber sash profile at an angle prevent the hinges from being ruptured or the sash from being broken by foot pressure. Locking parts are strengthened by steel reinforcement in the lower part of the sash.
In keeping with its determination to meet all relevant standards affecting countries in which its products are sold, the range includes one of the only BBA certified windows currently available. In answer to demand for identifiable sustainability, products such as the unique FPP preSelect are manufactured using timber from FSC certified sources.
High quality materials and modern production techniques enable FAKRO to ensure excellent quality control and create durable, safe and functional roof windows that, together with their unrivalled insulation properties, are breaking new ground in roof window design.
A new, automatic V40P air inlet automatically closes when the pressure difference increases or gusts of wind occur. The V40P adjusts air continuously but can also be closed if required.
As well as the choice of designs available from stock, most windows and sizes can be supplied in conservation style while a variety of non-standard sizes and profiles are also routinely manufactured. All Fakro manufacturing processes and quality control systems are carried out in accordance with the most exacting European standards.
CAD drawings of roof windows and access roof lights are available from www.fakro.co.uk and specification clauses can be obtained from NBS Plus.
Fakro roof windows are equipped with universal brackets which allow installation either on battens, rafters or trimmers. Window installation depth according to the requirements of the chosen tile profile is denoted by letters which also correspond to flashing classification.
