This talk, the second in the series, is delivered by Ben Hair of KnoxBhavan.
KnoxBhavan have developed KnoxBhavanenergy (KBe), a carbon analysis system for completed projects and a library of tried and tested construction build-ups. It is a design tool for measuring and reducing embodied carbon in all construction projects.
In developing KBe KnoxBhavan have learned just how challenging retrofit and the climate crisis are from the unique perspective of a small practice. Using the research to test our climate ambitions on live projects highlights the conflicts between existing regulation, construction finance and sustainability.
This talk combines a mixture of KBe quantitative analysis, case study buildings from KnoxBhavan portfolio, and aspirations for where the research can go next.
