Retrofit Reimagined Festival 2023

Open Day Event
Thu 28 Sep 2023, 10-7pm

The Building Centre is delighted to be hosting Retrofit Reimagined Festival 2023 on Thursday 28th September.

Alongside many incredible speakers and practitioners, we'll explore retrofit as a site for addressing the inequalities of wider, interlinked systems, of which our built environment sits at the centre through a range of talks, panel discussions, displays, co-builds, screenings and more, designed to incite action at the many different scales required of us to meet the intersecting crises we find ourselves in.

The foundational questions that drive our collective demonstration, such as: What if the climate transition and retrofit of our homes and streets were designed, owned and governed by the people who live there? remain firmly on the table, and we believe there are many, many more people that need to be in the room in order to get to the heart of them.

Whatever your skills, connections and vantage point, if you're interested in cultivating an open movement that acknowledges the need for us rebuild our relationships with land, materials and each other, we urge you to come along and explore together. It is through the interconnections, bonds, flows and entanglements between these three dimensions — of land, material and people — that we present the next layer of enquiry to unpack together.
