Concrete innovations

Short Course
Wed 4 Nov 2015

Hear from nine expert speakers in this unique half-day workshop exploring developments in architectural and structural concrete. Discover how trial assemblies can inform your work, communicate ideas prior to construction, iron out construction defects and help to deliver an outstanding finish.

In a small group you will gain first-hand knowledge from architects, craftsmen, manufacturers, designers and material specialists who have helped to create thousands of innovative projects worldwide. Our experts will share examples of successful modern prototypes, and perhaps most importantly, help you to learn from their mistakes. Attendees will be challenged to think about new concepts in both prototyping and trialling, ensuring successful practical design outcomes.

What will be covered:

Materials: Self-compacting, pigmented, sprayed, rammed and stratified concrete.

Architectural: Formliners, prepared natural timber, CNC-routed MDF, film-faced plywood, glass fibre reinforced concrete (GRC), self-climbing, grit-blasted and seeded concrete surfaces, zero carbon blocks.
