Silkolitt Lite

The Silkolitt Lite External Wall Insulation (EWI) system from Alumasc Facades comprises the Silkolitt+ silicone render that is applied over the Alumasc Lite grey EPS insulation board. Silkolitt Lite is a cost-effective and lightweight method of providing the building envelope with the requisite thermal performance and contemporary aesthetics.

This BBA-approved system comprises the following components:

  • Silkolitt+ Silicone Render
  • Alumasc Silicone Primer
  • Alumasc Base Coat
  • Alumasc Scrim Reinforcement
  • Alumasc insulation fixing
  • Alumasc Lite grey EPS insulation
  • Alumasc Bedding Adhesive
  • Substrate

Silkolitt Lite is generally specified because of the economic and lightweight way in which the insulation achieves the required thermal performance on low-rise buildings (i.e. buildings less than 18 m in height) in both new build and refurbishment applications. The Silkolitt+ silicone render provides a clean and contemporary finish with a wide choice of colours and textures available to suit the architect’s design requirements.

Key Performance Criteria:

  • Fire performance: B-s1,d0
  • Thermal performance: Typical U Values are:
  • 90 mm Lite insulation ~ 0.30 W/m2K
  • 120 mm Lite insulation ~ 0.25 W/m2K
  • 160 mm Lite insulation ~ 0.19 W/m2K

Accreditations

  • BBA Certificate 00/3766 PS3

Aesthetics:

  • Choice of 8 standard colours, but available in any NCS colour reference
  • UV resistant colour pigments are used for optimal colour fastness
  • Choice of 3 grain sizes – 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm or 3.0 mm – offers a range of textural finishes
  • High water and dirt repellency protects against freeze-thaw failure & fungal growth
  • High tensile adhesion strength prevents delamination and flaking
  • Good flexibility provides resistance against cracking and increasing durability

Applications

  • Masonry substrates
  • New build or refurbishment projects
  • Low-rise properties
