Rendabrick Lite

The Rendbrick Lite External Wall Insulation (EWI) system from Alumasc Facades comprises a 2 coat polymer render system – a brick (or top) coat and a mortar (or base) coat – that is applied on to the lightweight Alumasc Lite grey EPS insulation. Rendabrick can be used with approved resins that allow the finish to be matched to virtually any brick.

The Rendabrick Lite system comprises the following components:

  • Rendabrick Brick Coat
  • Rendabrick Mortar Coat
  • Alumasc Scrim Reinforcement
  • Alumasc Scrim Adhesive
  • Alumasc insulation fixing
  • Alumasc Lite grey EPS insulation
  • Alumasc Bedding Adhesive
  • Substrate

Rendabrick Lite is generally specified because of the economic and lightweight way in which the insulation achieves the required thermal performance on low-rise buildings (i.e. buildings less than 18 m in height) in both new build and refurbishment applications. The Rendabrick finish provides a brick appearance and is available in a wide choice of colours and resins to achieve the requisite texture to suit the architect’s design requirements.

Key Performance Criteria

  • Thermal performance: Typical U Values are:
  • 90 mm Lite insulation ~ 0.30 W/m2K
  • 120 mm Lite insulation ~ 0.25 W/m2K
  • 160 mm Lite insulation ~ 0.19 W/m2K

Aesthetics

  • Brick and mortar coats both available in a range of colours
  • Option to apply a resin to achieve specific textures and appearances
  • Weather resistant and remaining vapour permeable
  • Good flexibility provides resistance against cracking and increasing durability
  • Highly resistant to impact damage

Applications

  • Masonry substrates
  • New build or refurbishment projects
  • Low-rise properties (i.e. less than 18 m in height)
