Case study

RMJM’s design for the new Eastern Gateway complex at Brunel University included VMZINC flat lock panels and curved standing seam facades in PIGMENTO® Blue. The complex provides a new entrance point to the university, conference facilities including a multi-purpose auditorium, a new home for Brunel Business School and an art gallery and cafe. The brief called for a striking building which would develop the corporate identity and brand of the university and signpost the architectural quality of the campus. Sustainability was at the heart of a design which also sought to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent‘ rating. The subtle shade of blue is distinctive of the metal and uses modern pigment technology which enables the naturally grained texture of pre-weathered zinc to show through the colour.
