Unique products boost Mighton sales by 25%

Sash hardware specialist Mighton Products is bucking the economic trend, as sales of its EcotiltTM Secure up 25% in October-December 2008 compared to the same period in 2007. Ecotilt is a timber sash system with the same energy efficiency and security standards as the best aluminium, steel or PVC-U casement window, including ‘A-C’ window energy ratings and Secured By Design accreditation.

Mighton’s sales for traditional products are also solid and enquiries, says Managing Director, Mike Derham, are at an all-time high. “Joinery manufacturers use our products to differentiate themselves from the ‘herd’ and win sales. For example, interest in our Securibead and Secured By Design Kit, (tested to BS: 7950) has been dramatic, even before the official launch in March! Joiners can use this kit with windows of their own design to achieve Secured by Design (SBD) certification, a must for social housing specifiers.”

“Supporting our customers is the key. Anything we can do to help them grow, helps us. But joiners’ and manufacturers’ success will not come from lowering prices to unprofitable levels. It comes from offering unique products of interest to buyers, particularly those in the public sector.
I expect this to be our most interesting and successful year.”
