Moores Furniture Group has received a glowing report in its latest Environmental Management System (EMS) assessment, reaffirming the company’s long-held commitment to adopting the highest environmental standards throughout its business.

Leading kitchen and bathroom furniture manufacturer Moores, parent company of the Four Seasons kitchens and Shades bathroom brands, takes its responsibility to the environment very seriously and this has been recognised in the EMS assessment, which states: “The environmental management system established and maintained at Moores Furniture Group continues to remain both suitable and effective.”

The assessment, which took place over two days at the manufacturer’s Wetherby headquarters, highlighted the positive culture towards the environment that is fostered by all Moores employees, as well as the clear environmental objectives that are in place, in particular the company’s energy, waste segregation and water policies and the role of the Safety champions in developing and implementing recycling systems and other initiatives including power and paper saving.

Moores’ efforts in encouraging its contractors and suppliers to establish an EMS of their own was also recognised, along with the environmental planning which is put in place throughout the manufacturing and installation processes, with the report stating: “Environmental planning is encouraged throughout the product life cycle, from the assessment of product design through to the recycling initiatives being considered for replaced products.”

The company’s commitment to sustainability throughout the design process was also noted, with the EMS report stating: “A key aspect of the design is FSC product certification, which shows that the company complies with the highest social and environmental standards on the market.”

Peter Wilson, Moores Chief Executive, said: “The latest EMS assessment re-affirms the Moores ethos of reducing our negative impact on the environment wherever possible and we will continue with our clear set objectives to ensure this remains the case in every aspect of our business.”
