Polyrey laminates add some designer luxury to new Cento restaurant in Wimbledon

Bois Ebene, an exotic and deeply luxurious looking laminate that is a recent addition to Polyrey’s Origine Premier range has been specified as a key finish within the interior of the new Cento Italian restaurant and cocktail bar in Wimbledon.

Designed by Surrey-based practise, Scott Wills Design, the brief was to create a distinctive contemporary interior that was warm and luxurious, while integrating the very latest lighting technology as design features across the three floors of the restaurant.

Bois Ebene was specified by the designer for its distinctive graining based around caramel and bitter chocolate tones, being confident that it would create an on-trend and inviting interior. The high gloss laminate was used extensively throughout the interior in both horizontal and vertical applications on the bar front, surface mounted with Ice Cube lighting and on wall panelling behind the bar providing a durable, easy maintenance finish.

Says Scott Wills, designer to the project: “Bois Ebene is a particular favourite of mine at the moment because it is simply so striking visually, as well as being highly versatile as a surfacing material. It’s also a more cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to an exotic timber.”

Origine Premier offers 33 woodgrain laminates, covering all major species in design-oriented shades with clever use of surface textures and high definition print to give a realistic alternative to real wood veneers with the added advantage of colour consistency.
