Case study

900m2 New recycled superior strength roof replacement

Project Description:
Kings Hill Primary School is an early 19th Century building. The old roof slates were flaking due to frost damage with many slipped / lost slates needing replacing.

Solution and Installation:
IKOslate was chosen by the client (Walsall MBC) as a low weight, cost effective alternative. The products CO2 credentials were also a key factor. During the installation IKO Rubershield Pro and IKO Armourvent were also installed to provide cross flow ventilation, and IKO’s lead substitute IKOflash was installed in the valleys and for flashing the chimneys. The steep pitch of the roof provided the contractor with a challenge particularly with the cold damp Autumn mornings.

Systems Used:
IKO Eaves Protection Strip
IKO Armourvent Multi
IKO Rubershield Pro
IKOslate

Contractor: Sollihull Roofing & Building
Size: 900m2
