The existing building dates from 1980 and was designed by architect Manuel Portaceli.
It is a quadrangular prism with the portal frame marking composition. The volume is partially empty while the structure is preserved. The composition of the new building reinterprets the original keys with different constructive solutions: quadrangular prism structure with concrete walls solving the recesses (corresponding with access) with overhangs of these walls without a permanence of the structure. A spatial structure solves the roof, and his geometry gives place to triangular skylights.

The facade of this school hall is made of glass-filled tiles. Colourful glass discs are embedded in the square clay blocks. On sunny days, colourful shadow patterns are cast across the concrete floor inside.

The project was named the winner in 2015 Tile of Spain Awards, which celebrates architecture and interior design projects that used ceramics by Spanish brands.  The panel praised the simplicity and effectiveness of this project, highlighting the application of ceramic tiles in order to resolve acoustic and light control difficulties. The way the material is used also cleverly creates a connection between the interior space and its surroundings.
