Children and young people are all but ignored in built environment decision making in the UK - particularly England. Yet they are the demographic group most affected by poor planning and urban design.
The Built Environment Trust exists to inspire, connect and empower people to improve the quality of our built environment by enabling individuals to have the agency to make change and get involved.
Head of Learning, Sandra Hedblad, is leading a two-year campaign focusing on involving children and young people. “We want to listen and actively engage with children and young people in order to help represent this ignored group. It is a timely campaign.”

This is an important issue for the population in general and for everyone involved in the built environment sector in particular.
We are all connected somehow to children and young people and an environment that is good for the young is good for all demographic groups. We know our work has tremendous impact on every aspect of our lives.
