Charter-Integr8 Shutters Secure Leisure Centre Against Vandalism

The new Meadows leisure centre at Maghull, Liverpool is a long awaited facility for the people of Sefton. The £8.2 million development, adjacent to the Town Hall, offers swimming pools, a café, a library and an IT suite. Architects GLR (now merged to B3 architects) used Charter Integr8 shutters for the ground floor windows.

"Vandalism is sadly always a threat," said a spokesperson for the architects, "so the client, Sefton Council, asked us to provide security shutters to protect the glazed facade of the swimming pool, entrance and cafe areas."

"We specified Charter because its product was suitable for all the external finishes in the building - it provided an integrated solution compatible with curtain walling, external brickwork, cladding and the overhanging soffit. Charter’s input was very helpful – they were involved from the design stage. We’ll certainly consider using them again for similar projects."
