Charter Injects Security into Medical Centre

Charter Specialist Security recently solved a problem for the new medical centre at Laird Street, Birkenhead. The Merseyside centre is unfortunately a target for thieves, housing as it does both drugs and expensive medical equipment. So security must be tight, but as a medical centre for the community it had to be a pleasant and welcoming building, too. Security shutters from Charter were the answer. Involved from the design stage, the company supplied 35 Charter-Integr8 180LS security shutters and eight Intimidator steel doorsets, fitted to the ground floor and over the flat-roofed areas.

The building has various facades - timber cladding, aluminimum cladding and external brickwork. Charter was able to supply shutters to fit into each of these. There was also a five metre opening for which a custom shutter was made. During the day when the centre is open the shutters retract into the lintel and cannot be seen. At night, the shutters are closed by the touch of a button. A spokesman for Nobles Construction appreciated the help from Charter. “They gave us good technical support. The installation went smoothly and I would recommend Charter to anyone looking for stylish, strong security shutters.”
