With homeowners making better use of their lofts for storage and businesses increasing storage space through the use of mezzanine floors, concertina stairways are growing ever more popular. They take up little space and can even be used in a vertical access position, where space is extremely limited. Furthermore, for businesses, they are ideal for accessing  the space afforded by flat roofs to locate such things as plant, motor and boiler rooms.

The global market leader for lightweight, aluminium concertina ladders  is Premier Loft Ladders. The company has earned the reputation of offering safe and robust access stairways and is the preferred choice of architects and building industry professionals throughout the UK. Premier leads the field in design, technology, energy efficiency and quality and its superbly engineered primary stairway - the Supreme – is universally regarded to be the No 1 concertina-style, ready-to-fit ladder on the market.

Suitable for a maximum floor to ceiling height up to 4600mm for flat roof access, the Supreme is made from high strength die-cast aluminium alloy components contained within and attached to a laminated wood trapdoor and lining.

Normally supplied with a single seal at the top of the lining for when the roof hatch closes, the Supreme can now be offered with a double seal to the roof hatch to improve energy saving. The standard single seal under the top cover would allow up to 35mm of insulation around the outside of the hatchbox. The special double seal can allow anything between 80mm to 120mm.

The double seal is just one of a choice of several options and accessories offered with the Supreme. These include electrical operation, 30 or 90 minute fire resistant casings, vertical access, suspended ceiling application, top operating mechanism, insulated trapdoor, telescopic handrail (to one or both sides), upper level guardrail and protective feet.

For all Supreme stairways, customers can specify their own finished requirements. Generally they are finished 15mm or 20mm under the opening length and 15mm under the opening width. Prices are extremely competitive. In fact the company will match the price of any like for like product found at a lower price elsewhere!
