During each class, participants will develop:

  • Quick hand sketching

  • Ability to communicate proportions and three-dimensional space and scale

  • Perspective and projection drawings to plan and put to paper images from imagination or plan

  • Problem solving skills through drawing, building visual literacy

Options for how to draw surfaces and a development of personal style will also be discussed.

Each four hour session will start with a warm-up, followed by working through material with quick sketches, and ending the session with a chance to work on a longer personal drawing of your subject, with one-to-one feedback. There will be an hour lunch break.

All materials will be provided including cartridge paper, pencils and pens. A personal sketchbook will be given to students in which they can build up their body of work.

The course is open to all students and is suitable for beginners. For more information and tickets for each session, please follow the course links above.

Student testimonies:

"The content of the course was interesting, especially relevant for work in the built environment. I would definitely recommend the course to others, I improved so much over the course in the past month."

"It taught me drawing techniques I did not know, adding to my repertoire"

"A good introduction to concepts in drawing which were new to me, but very important. I found the course challenging but extremely interesting and helpful."
