Salamanca school

In the Spanish town of Salamanca, resides an elementary school part visible, part invisible. Designed by architectural company ABLM Arquitectos ‘the nearly visible school’ lives up to its name as its upper storey is clad with side-by-side mirrored panels which give the appearance of a building half the size it is.

The façade is made from aluminium and reflects the surrounding leafy area allowing the building to blend into the natural landscape. The ‘visible’ sections of the school have a bright, striped design, and are aligned with colourful ceramics (designed by Toni Cumella), which ignites young occupants' creativity with a splash of colour.
