Nicky Morgan MP’s announcement that, for the first time in fifty years, a new site for Grammar School Education may be established, will allow the completion of the Bond Bryan designed Wildernesse Education Campus in Sevenoaks.
Bond Bryan Architects developed a masterplan for the entire site that included two secondary schools, creating an opportunity to significantly increase access to education in an area short of provision. The schools will co-locate in buildings with a similar architectural language yet each with a distinct identity.
Work to construct a permanent home for Trinity School, a Christian Faith based Secondary School founded under the free schools programme, is already well underway, and Contractors Wilmott Dixon will complete this project next year.
Now attention will turn to the Grammar School element, an Annexe to Weald of Kent Grammar School.
Bond Bryan Director Jeff Stibbons said: “We are delighted to be involved in the Sevenoaks development. At Bond Bryan we pride ourselves in working very closely with a wide variety of education clients, making sure that our solutions address the particular needs and ethos of each institution. Working with Trinity School and Weald of Kent Grammar School has proven to be a great and most rewarding experience.”
