GoodHout has developed a newly engineered wood/high pressure laminate alternative made from 100% natural coconut husk. This Coconut Husk Board (CHB) has exceptional properties, and is perfect for the circular economy.  GoodHout’s CHB is not a traditional composite product: due to GoodHout technology, the naturally present glues in the coconut are activated and a 100% natural, engineered wood (alternative) is produced.

It has exceptional properties, with low moisture absorption, flame retardancy and can be 3D molded. CHB is made from a truly renewable source: 60 billion coconuts are grown yearly producing mesocarp, or husk, as waste.

GoodHout Coconut Husk Board has tested compliant for flooring, indoor use and in moist conditions with European Standard EN622-2, belonging to the class: “Hardboard for load bearing and humid conditions” (type HB.HLA1).

GoodHout is looking to supply the global market with a formaldehyde-free, high pressure fiberboard while helping reducing our CO2 footprint, mitigating deforestation and enriching the lives of locals in coconut-producing developing countries.
