Social housing specialist Wrekin Windows will be exhibiting a range of sustainable PVC-U window solutions at this year’s Greenbuild show, including 100% recycled, low carbon window frames and A-rated Irish Oak effect vertical sliders.
Visitors to stand C27 will be able to view Wrekin’s innovative Reco22 window system; the first low carbon framing system of its kind made from 100% post-consumer PVC-U waste, fully closing the recycling loop. Reco22 was the first window system to be awarded the Building Research Establishment (BRE) A+ rating for all sectors including domestic housing, and can be supplied in a range of dual colour options, including an Irish Oak effect finish.
Available in a triple-glazed bead and featuring a centre pane u-value of as low as 0.8W/m2k, windows fabricated from Reco22 deliver significant in-life energy and CO2 savings.
Also on display will be Wrekin’s timber-effect sliding sash windows, which are A rated for energy efficiency in line with the Window Energy Ratings (WERs) scheme and feature 100% recycled PVC-U thermal inserts to improve insulation.
The vertical sliders tilt inwards for ease of cleaning and offer an authentic traditional appearance, thanks to the Irish Oak effect finish and optional deep bottom rails and moulded or through horn detail.
John Williams of Wrekin Windows said: “At Greenbuild, we will be exhibiting a number of window solutions that balance sustainability with aesthetics and value for money. Our range includes fully recycled, BRE approved window frames plus energy rated windows, which are all available in a wide choice of finishes, including a new Irish Oak effect, which is increasingly popular as a low maintenance alternative to timber window frames.
“Our team will be available at the show to provide advice and guidance to specifiers, looking for durable, visually appealing window solutions that will help to reduce household energy use and carbon emissions.”
