Roaming sledge hotel allows visitors to see the Northern Lights in bed

In Kilpisjärvi, Finland, resides a sledge hotel called ‘The Skiing Hotel’ that enables guests to view the Northern Lights in the comfort of their hotel room.

The hotel comes as three mobile ‘wilderness camp cabins’ which allow visitors to flexibly move their sledge around Kilpisjärvi. The hotel is located away from light pollution, giving guests the best opportunity to see the Aurora.

Each of the cabins is 15 feet long and 6.5 feet high and designed for two people. The cabins have a glass roof allowing people to gaze at the lights and features a bed, table, heater, toilet and gas stove.

The hotel provides visitors with snowshoes and kick sleds, allowing them to venture out of their cabin and explore the wintery landscape. The hotel will open in January 2019 and is available to book via  Off the Map Travel
