Wienerberger, the leading provider of wall, roof and landscaping innovations, has donated a selection of roof tiles and pavers to a Habitat for Humanity development in Toxteth, Liverpool, as part of its partnership with the international development charity. Since the two organisations started working together last year, Wienerberger has donated products for two blocks of houses on the development.
Liza Parry, Executive Director at Liverpool Habitat for Humanity, commented:
"We very much rely on volunteer labour and donations of cash, materials and gifts in kind to keep our construction costs down, so the help being provided by Wienerberger is invaluable. Their generosity and that of others like them means we can continue to provide low-cost housing for families who otherwise could not afford to get onto the property ladder. In addition our home partners spend 500 hours working on site – known as ‘sweat equity’ – which counts as a £10,000 deposit towards their home."
Elaine Liversidge, Category Marketing Manager for Roof and Paving at Wienerberger, commented:
"We are delighted to be involved in the partnership with Habitat For Humanity in the UK, and to be in a position to help provide new homes for disadvantaged families to strengthen their quality of life and help them live free from poverty, fear and neglect. We look forward to continue being involved with Liverpool Habitat for Humanity and working with the team to provide both products and technical know-how."
