Ultra Tile used in 5 STAR holiday accommodation

Ultra Tile adhesives and grouts were used by Concept Bathrooms on tiling applications within 5 STAR cottages and B&B rooms.

Concept Bathrooms have recently finished a holiday accommodation refurbishment project, where they used Ultra Tile adhesives, grouts and Ultra Floor sub-floor preparation products.  The project included three 17th century cottages and two bed & breakfast rooms.

The accommodation, owned by multi award-winning Roundhouse Barn Holidays, is the ultimate in luxury!  All the bathroom and kitchen walls and floors were tiled by Concept Bathroom’s team of fixers to the highest of standards using opulent travertine and slate tiles.

Warmup underfloor heating was part of the project’s specification and the full refurbishment was completed within three months.

Sub-floor preparation was conducted first using Ultra Floor Level IT one HDB and Ultra Tile Prime IT FP.

Self-levelling compound, Ultra Floor Level IT one HDB has a working time of 20-30 minutes and will set within 2-3 hours.  It can be applied at thicknesses from 3-50mm and a 25kg bag covers an optimum 5m²at 3mm.  The product is protein and ammonia free, shrinkage compensated and polymer modified.

Suitable for use on most common substrates including concrete, sand/cement screeds, flooring grade asphalt, floors with under floor heating and fixed timber floors, it can be applied by trowel or pump.

Concept Bathrooms also used Ultra Tile Prime IT FP to enhance bond strength and prime before applying any adhesive.

As an additive, Prime IT FP enhances performance of Ultra Tile adhesives and grouts that have not been previously polymer modified.

As an acrylic surface conditioner, it is suitable for a variety of building substrates, sealing them prior to the application of an adhesive.

A total of three adhesives were used on this project to fix the variety of tiles.  Their individual qualities were matched to the application.

Floor tiles were then fixed with Ultra Tile ProFlex SP and the wall tiles with ProGrip HG.  Travertine wall tiles were fixed with ProFlex SP+ES in white.

Ultra Tile ProFlex SP is a single part, rapid setting cementitious adhesive which is firmly established as one of the brand’s leading products. The product is specially formulated to achieve enhanced adhesion and flexibility making it ideal for areas where slight movement or vibration can occur.

Ready mixed adhesive, ProGrip HG is specially formulated with non-slip, high grab properties and is suitable for intermittently wet conditions.

ProFlex SP+ES is an extended set single part flexible floor and wall tile adhesive, suitable for interior/exterior use and in both wet and dry conditions. The product is specially formulated with extended workability for large format and intricate work.

All tiling applications were finished with grouts from the Ultra Tile range.  Ultra Tile FineJoint grout in limestone was applied to the walls and FlexJoint in limestone and anthracite were chosen for the floors.

Justin Spry, proprietor of Concept Bathrooms, states: “I only ever use Ultra Tile products.  I have complete confidence in their performance.”

Justin purchases all his Ultra Tile materials from Premier Tiles in Falmouth, an official Ultra Tile stockist.
