Dimplex, the UK market leader in electric heating, is once again on television - this time on Channel 4’s top rated home design programme ‘Grand Designs’.

The new series breaks with the usual format of the show as presenter Kevin McCloud travels abroad to watch ambitious self-builders through the long and painstaking process of creating their dream home.

The show is always compulsive viewing, bringing in a regular audience of 11 million for Channel 4.

Dimplex featured in ‘Chez Jallot’, a 130 year old French manor house in central France that even in its original derelict state, captured the imaginations of Denise and Doug Ibbs.

From the start the couple were keen to create the perfect home for themselves and this included coming up with clever heating solutions. They wanted a fully controllable and economical whole house heating system and Dimplex was the first choice. They were also delighted with the modern styling of the new DuoHeat radiator, electronic panels and towel rails.

Denise told Dimplex: “We chose the DuoHeat radiators for their efficiency and affordability and also for their good looks which blend perfectly with our design scheme. The installation was easy and the great thing is that we don’t need to worry about servicing – essential as we’re in deepest rural France!

“Although the radiators can work independently, we will be using them as part of whole house heating system here at Chez Jallot. We control the heating on a time and ‘zone’ basis because with such a large property, we wanted to ensure our fuel bills are in control.”

The entire renovation and refit of Chez Jallot can be seen in ‘Grand Designs Abroad’ on Channel 4 and featured on the website:
