A leading UK timber merchant has gone back to the future by supporting an exhibition featuring the latest in building technology.

Arnold Laver Timber World has donated timber to the Offsite2007 event at the BRE in Watford, which runs from June 11-14.

This year's exhibition and conference will explore how modern construction and advanced technologies are coming together to deliver higher performing, sustainable and smarter buildings.

It will feature the Big Build - a large outdoor area filled with full-scale real buildings - exhibits and a demonstration area where innovative technologies and intelligent systems will be on show.

Andrew Laver, managing director at Arnold Laver Timber World, said: “We are pleased to support Offsite2007 and continue our commitment of highlighting the use of timber as a sustainable construction material.

“This event displays the future plans for the building and construction industry and we certainly want to play an important role in that future.”

The full-scale buildings will feature modern methods of construction, smart technologies such as control systems and whole building communication systems, and sustainable technologies, including recycled building products and sustainable building materials, new products from natural resources and application of industrial by-products for construction.
