Three new soft-mud bricks have been added to Wienerberger’s stunning Desimpel range. Following the incorporation of Desimpel in March 2010, the world’s biggest brick
manufacturer vowed to build on its success with the development of new products
. The addition of the Olde Horsham, the Olde Cranleigh and the Olde Henfield, increases the choice available within the handformatic portfolio to 19.
The new bricks
are produced at Wienerberger
’s Warnham factory in West Sussex. Bricks
produced at Warnham
are first in the UK to be awarded the BES 6001 Responsible Sourcing standard, and all three are currently undergoing the accreditation process.
These beautiful stock bricks have a handcrafted, rustic appearance perfect for refurbishments, sensitive restoration projects and new buildings with character. Each is individually moulded and purposely designed to have an irregular shape and creased texture. The Olde Horsham, Olde Cranleigh and Olde Henfield are the first handformatic bricks to be produced at the Warnham
factory, which has invested in new facilities in order to further develop the range.
Harald Schwarzmayr, managing director of Wienerberger
UK, said: “The handformatic-style brick has become more popular over recent years, both in refurbishment of older buildings and in new-build schemes where a heritage appearance is desired. These creased, textured bricks offer all the benefits of handmade bricks without the premium price tag.
“Innovation and development of new products across the portfolio continues to be an important part of our strategy as it enables us to remain competitive and continually exceed the expectations of our customers. This commitment is further demonstrated by the investment we have made in new facilities for producing handformatic bricks at the Warnham factory which will enable us to continue to bring new products to market.”
