The GGR Group Exhibits Latest Mini Cranes and Innovative New Machinery at Vertikal Days 2010

Lifting solution specialist, the GGR Group, will exhibit fresh and innovative products from its UNIC Cranes Europe, GGR Glass and brand new GGR Cladding ranges at Vertikal Days 2010.

UNIC Cranes Europe, specialist distributor of mini cranes for restricted access and confined working environments, is exhibiting a brand new mini crawler crane – the URW-245.  UNIC will be exhibiting its already popular range of mini spider cranes including the class-leading URW-706.  The URW-706’s capabilities have been proved in applications as versatile as lifting harrier jump jets and working from the top of phenomenally high buildings and towers in city centre locations.

UNIC mini crawler cranes are the biggest innovation in the crane industry over the last five years.  Inspired design, precision manufacture and attention to detail mean that these cranes are incredibly compact, yet provide the capacity and reach of much heavier machines with a much larger footprint.

The URW-245 sits in-between the URW-095 and the URW-295 in the UNIC mini cranes range.  It offers unrivalled lifting power with its class-beating minimal dimensions and weight.  At 0.6m wide, the URW-245 is the ideal machine for in-between floor operations and fits easily into goods lifts without the need for disassembly.

The URW-245 has a capacity of 2.43t x 1.5m, a working radius of 5.85m and a max boom length of 6.19m.  It is radio remote controlled as standard with features including an intelligent voice warning system.  All mini crawlers are tracked for mobility over rough terrain and can even mount stairs.  Four outriggers provide load suitability and mean the cranes can operate on sloping ground.

UNIC Cranes Europe will also be exhibiting a fly jib on the URW-295 mini crane, a machine which previously was not fitted with this feature.  In addition, UNIC Cranes is exhibiting innovative new technology to accompany its mini crane range such a brand new slew limitation device.  The new range limiting system allows the operator to avoid collisions and accidents on site by working inside a predefined envelope.

The operator can easily program the following limits:

  • Variable radius
  • Variable height
  • Free zone (two walls)

GGR Glass will be displaying a robotic glazing manipulator attached to the head of a URW-095 UNIC mini crane.  A 600kg glazing manipulator attachment, the GL- MC600,  rotates and tilts and all pneumatic functions are radio controlled and is perfect for hard to access glazing jobs.

To accompany the exhibition of mini cranes and brand new technology, GGR vacuum lifters and glazing robots will also be exhibited.
