BIM4SME is a working group made up of individuals from SME organisations who have a passion for BIM and a desire to help SMEs, in all areas of construction, be they consultants, contractors, specialists, suppliers or manufacturers, to understand and engage with the BIM process.
For many who have started the journey this may mean developing their understanding and providing access to networks; for those who have yet to begin, the aim will be to provide an awareness and appreciation of BIM and an understanding of why it is considered important. Moreover, as the group is made up of SMEs, the cost equation will be foremost, so questions such as ‘What do I get for my money? What are the benefits? How long before my investment is paid off?’ will be addressed.
At this FREE event SMEs will be able to hear from many of their peers who will present a real life view of BIM from their own perspective. The event will be an opportunity for SMEs to speak freely and openly about any concerns or issues that are seen as a barrier to BIM implementation for them.
Going forward the BIM4SME group will provide a voice for the SME community to reflect its concerns and interests back to the Government’s BIM Task Group.
SMEs wishing to attend the event being held at The Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London WC1E 7BT on 15th April 2013 from 9.30am-1.00pm should register at http://bim4sme.eventbrite.co.uk/
