The Building Centre unveils new identity at opening of its latest exhibition, London's Learning

The Building Centre unveils new identity at opening of its latest exhibition, London's Learning. The Building Centre has launched its new identity today, Wednesday 31 October. The design has been undertaken by graphic design studio Fernando Gutiérrez.

The Building Centre is an independent forum providing information and inspiration to all sectors of the built environment. It is an impartial source of information for architecture, design and construction that combines a showcase of innovative products with information resources. It brings together best practice in design and technology through a programme of exhibitions, events and seminars and by providing a home to key industry organisations.

The brief was to create a distinctive and unique visual identity with strong visual architecture that has resonance and impact with this target market. The new brand will work to communicate all Building Centre activities - exhibitions, conferences, events, product galleries, bookshop and research and to signal that it is home to a broad range of tenants including:- New London Architecture, Construction Products Association, Construction Industry Council, UK Green Building Council, Design for Homes and the Timber Trade Federation.

Michael Rose, Chair of The Building Centre commented:

The Building Centre is a theatre for the construction industry that is open to all. It's a meeting place not just a reference place - a venue where all the different professions can come and develop knowledge and join the on-going debate about the built environment.

Fernando Gutiérrez, director of Studio Fernando Gutiérrez, commenting on the new identity, said:

We have designed an umbrella identity. The different elements of The Building Centre are now communicated with same voice visually and conceptually. This new identity is true to principles of The Building Centre - information and inspiration. It's engaging and dynamic, it captures the imagination – like The Building Centre.

Notes to editors
