Taking care of your swing gate in three easy steps

1. Check your foundations!

For the gate to work properly it needs to be securely fastened to the ground. Over time, fixings can work their way loose and concrete foundations can get damaged by vehicles and pedestrians. AUTOPA recommends that the foundations and fixings are checked every 6 months or so to ensure that the catch post and gate post are both firmly secured.

2. Oil all the moving parts

Using a light oil (WD40 or similar) grease the spring latch, hinges, and lock to ensure that they can all move freely. This will help to keep the gate easy to operate and prevent damage to the moving parts. The hinges for the AUTOPA Swing Gate are adjustable to help with on-site installation. The hinge bolts need to be checked to ensure that they are tight and are holding the gate itself level.

3. Give the whole gate a clean

Finally, cleaning all the surfaces with soap and water will clean away any dirt and debris, extending the lifespan of your gate while making it more visible to pedestrians and vehicles using the area.
