Sustainable prospects for Consense 2011

Opportunities for the building and property industry: International Trade Fair and Congress for Sustainable Building, Investment, Operations and Maintenance in Stuttgart.

Social change is continually posing new challenges for the building and property industry. Not only are ecological and economic concerns becoming more important for future oriented developments in sustainable building, sociocultural factors are also playing a more significant role. The economic importance of sustainable building is also now undisputed. Prospects, answers and solutions will be presented during Consense 2011, International Trade Fair and Congress for Sustainable Building, Investment, Operations and Maintenance, which will be held in Stuttgart on 29 and 30 June 2011. From this year onwards, the unique platform for sustainable building in Europe will include even more investors and operators, a fact which is also reflected in the extended title of the event.

Consense 2011 will be an ideal setting for acknowledged experts, renowned exhibitors and international trade visitors to exchange information and know-how. The German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and Messe Stuttgart are inviting the building and property industry to this annual event for the fourth time. The participants will obtain forward-looking scientific and practical information. Consense 2011 will also show the market opportunities offered by sustainable building to investors, principals, architects and planners at home and abroad.

The successful mainstays of Consense include a first-class Congress and a trade fair featuring exhibitors who every process in the building and property industry. Investors, service providers, institutions and product manufacturers will present their innovative solutions and approaches. The focal point of the Congress this year will be the importance of sustainability in the renovation and modernisation of existing buildings.

In 2011 the trade fair will contain new attractions in the form of the three communication islands, i.e. plaza, forum and stage. The stage will enable visitors to hold discussions at first hand during the trade fair with top-class speakers from the Congress. Exhibitors will present their new developments and services in short talks during the forum. The plaza will be a place for a non-binding exchange of views and for initial contacts over a snack and a cup of coffee or tea.

Visitors to the trade fair will also be able for the first time this year to attend the presentation ceremony for new DGNB certificates. This will be the first occasion on which ideally planned and implemented urban quarters are awarded the certificate.

Individual key topics will be examined in depth on the pavilions during the trade fair. There are definite plans to stage the Pavilion “Technical Forum on Sun Protection Systems”, which made its debut in 2010. ift Rosenheim is organising the Pavilion “Sustainable Building with Windows and Facades”. Over 200 new material samples will be presented during the “Consense Material” special show of raumPROBE.

This special show will contain, for example, different insulating materials and recycling products, as well as renewable raw materials. The DGNB will also stage a concurrent exhibition entitled “Renovating for Sustainability” while Union Investment will announce the winners of the “Prime Property Award”, which is presented for sustainable property investments.

Economic planning, building, operations and maintenance are very much in vogue at home and abroad. Sustainable prospects, suggestions and answers for the building and property industry will be presented during Consense 2011 at Messe Stuttgart on 29 and 30 June 2011. Incidentally, the trade fair can also be attended independently of the Congress.
