‘Sure Start Children’s Centre Almondbury’

The aim of Sure Start Children’s Centres is to improve outcomes for all children. They are a vital part of the Government’s ten-year childcare strategy to enable all families with children to have access to an affordable, flexible, high-quality childcare place for their child. Provisional responsibility has been passed down to the Local Authorities and during 2010 every community will be served by a Sure Start Children’s Centre, ensuring that every child gets the best start in life.

Senior Architectural Systems have recently supplied Hybrid windows and aluminium doors for the recently completed centre for Kirklees Council. The project consists of 13 top hung composite Hybrid windows installed into stone surrounds complete with 2 entrance screens and two further external door sets supplied in Seniors SD Commercial door suite and SCW Curtain Wall. 28mm thick high performance glazed units have been used throughout.

One of the most striking features is the main entrance which is set into a terracotta coloured, curved rendered feature. Within the feature both the Hybrid window system and the SD Commercial Doors sit side by side and offer a consistent external appearance.

Seniors fabricator, Aire Valley of Keighley, fabricated and installed the systems for the main contractor on the scheme, ISG.
