OKAWOOD with thermoform inlay made of indigenous beechwood
Marktheidenfeld / Tübingen, January 2011. The OKA
WOOD sunshade system reconciles high demands in terms of function and design. The cavity of the functional glass
contains filigree batons, extending the family of products made of thermo form wood taken exclusively from indigenous forests. OKA
WOOD not only provides privacy and glare protection but also effective direction selective solar control, preventing sunlight from shining in directly and allowing warm, tinted daylight to enter the room. Having the system built in to the cavity ensures it is maintenance-free and durable, which pushes down costs. The thermal treatment of the wood also enhances value as the batons are made of several layers of veneer, making them dimensionally stable and moisture-resistant. With all these advantages, this system is very usable for green buildings.
In terms of design, the solar control system looks convincing due to the attractive beechwood inlay. This natural material adds life to the insulating glazing and creates a very special atmosphere in the room, while providing a good view outwards.
