A leading national timber merchant has already signed up to attend Ecobuild 2008 – after this year’s event was such a huge success.
Arnold Laver Timber World showcased its environmental accolades at The Ecobuild 2007 conference in London recently – where being ‘green’ was being demonstrated as the way forward for the future.
This year’s conference, called Making Sustainable Construction Happen, focused on the challenges faced by the construction industry in delivering a sustainable future.
Timber World representatives who attended the three-day event demonstrated the company’s efforts to balance their commercial demands with environmental responsibilities to create a more sustainable environment.
Andrew Wharrier, Arnold Laver’s Marketing Manager, said: “The Ecobuild exhibition was a fantastic opportunity for Arnold Laver to further highlight our commitment to protecting the environment. As a company, we believe it is our corporate social responsibility to preserve the world forests and promote effective forestry management.
“All of our branches have been awarded accreditation from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and BM TRADA Forest Products (CSA, MTCC and SFI) giving customers the confidence that the vast majority of our timber and wood-based products are from legal, well-managed forests.”
The Ecobuild conference is the UK’s definitive showcase for sustainable design and construction products and services.
In its fourth year, the exhibition attracted thousands of visitors and conference delegates. It include several interactive features, including green roofs, eco interiors and a streetscene to demonstrate how a well designed public realm can integrate sustainable products and features into the urban landscape.
