Steadmans structural sections specified for new inveralmond brewery, Perth
Steadmans, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of cold rolled sections, has provided both structural sections and cladding products for the new office, warehouse and brewing facility of the Inveralmond Brewery in Perth, Scotland.
Located on a brownfield site near the existing brewery, the building will eventually accommodate the entire operation when it relocates to the new purpose built premises.
Over 600 lin metres of Steadmans’ 170/16 sleeved cold rolled ‘Z’ purlin system plus 100 lin metres of 200/20 eaves beams were specified for the roof structure. 550 lin metres of the company’s 140/16 galvanised cold rolled ‘C’ sections were utilised for the sidewalls of the new brewery. Steadmans also supplied the composite roof and wall panels for the facility.
The structural engineer for the project was Crieff-based Campbell of Doune whilst the main contractor and steelwork fabricator was McFadzean Ltd from Perth.
Douglas McFadzean is owner and managing director of the company which chose to specify Steadmans’ products for the project. He said: “I have worked with Steadmans for over 15 years and have remained loyal due to their reliability, high levels of customer service, quality products, and technical support.
“I had no hesitation in using them on this prestigious project as I knew that I could rely on the Steadmans team to ensure the smooth running of the job from start to finish, allowing us to effectively and efficiently deliver the new building on time and to specification.”
