Staff at Ahmarra to 'Go Green' for FSC Friday

Staff at leading timber fire door manufacturer, Ahmarra will be holding an FSC Friday Open Day and Macmillan Coffee Event on Friday 27 September at their factory based in Portsmouth.

The aim of the day is to increase awareness of the FSC by offering tours of the factory. Visitors will learn all about Ahmarra’s commitment to use sustainable materials when manufacturing their bespoke fire doors. Staff will also take part in FSC awareness seminars throughout the day.

As the day coincides with Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Ahmarra will have coffee and cakes for sale as well as a number of fundraising activities including a sponsored “Wax Off”. Ahmarra promises to donate £10 for every staff member who wears green on the day.

Tim Doran, Managing Director, said 'Our “We Go Green” open day should be a great day for both staff and visitors. As well as promoting the aims of the FSC, we also aim to raise lots of money for a very worthy cause”.

As fully certified members of the FSC, Ahmarra are committed to using sustainable materials and reducing the impact of what they do on the environment. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. When you see the FSC logo, you can be confident that the product is not contributing to the destruction of the world’s forests.

The “We Go Green” event is from 12pm to 2pm on Friday 27 September and entry is by invitation only. The event is not open to the general public but if you would like to attend please contact Vicki Boulton at Ahmarra for further details on 02392 318 019.
