During his trade visit to China in November, Prime Minister David Cameron said: “We want Britain’s best known companies, best known names, coming here to deepen and expand trading and economic relationship with China.” One sector that has truly taken off in China is the renewables sector. The country has overtaken the US to become the world’s largest energy consumer, and is fast becoming a solar power hub for international investors looking to tap into its potential.
The largest PV manufacturing exhibition and conference in the world, SNEC PV, takes place in Shanghai this February. Ray Noble, the REA
PV Specialist, has been invited to speak at the SNEC on Solar Power in the UK. Ray Noble, REA
Solar Power Policy Director and David Owen, Managing Director of Solar Media, who sit on the steering group of the REA
’s Solar Power Group, will be going to China to promote opportunities the UK market holds for solar PV. We are welcoming representatives of member companies to go to China as part of a group.
If you are interested in sourcing from or understanding more about the Chinese PV market place then going in a group of other UK nationals might be preferable. There will be no set itinerary outside of the exhibition and conference days, though there are numerous options for PV
manufacturing site visits if there is enough interest from the group going. All expenses, flights, hotel and travel costs are to be met solely by the companies attending. There is a group booking on hotel rooms available. Both Ray and David will be available to help make introductions to Chinese companies or offer advice during the trip should it be required.
If you are interested in getting involved please contact David Owen immediately at email@example.com
