Single ply for iconic Olympic training venue

The £25 million rejuvenation of Uxbridge’s iconic Grade II-listed Lido has produced a leisure complex which Britain’s swimmers will use in preparation for the 2012 Olympics.

Designed in collaboration with sport and leisure architects Faulkner Brown, 3,300 m2 of Flag-Soprema Flagon SV PVC single ply membrane was installed on 7 roof levels. The system is puncture, rot and weather resistant.

New facilities include a 50 metre indoor pool with moveable floor, health and fitness suite, community sports hall, café, crèche and athletics stadium.
