Based at the company’s Essex manufacturing and distribution facility, Simon, who has had several senior roles in various engineering businesses, joins Mumford & Wood bringing valuable business experience.
“I have always been in manufacturing and commercial environments,” says Simon. “This is a great opportunity to grow an already strong and successful brand and working with a very dedicated and talented team I know together we can make a real difference. We find ourselves in a challenging market but we are confident that quality, service and expertise will continue to differentiate our business.”
Mumford & Wood, a brand well established with senior specifiers, conservationists, developers and self builders, is renown for creating bespoke timber windows, doorsets and associated joinery products in traditional and contemporary styles which are suitable for new build and renovation projects.
“As a responsible manufacturer we certainly tick all the boxes when it comes to product design and innovation,” continues Simon, “and it is increasingly clear that there is unprecedented growth in this sector, and for our products in particular. We face, with others, the on-going challenge to meet legislative reduction in energy and carbon emissions which Mumford & Wood has addressed well ahead of new Part L Building Regulations and many of our products already reach the 2016 requirements.”
Members of the PTP Group include Timberwindows.com, the UK’s fastest growing consumer brand of timber windows and doors; Dale Windows, who provides the Group’s first entry into the merchant sector; The English Glasshouse, manufacturers of bespoke timber conservatories and orangeries; and the very recently acquired commercial internal timber doors manufacturer, John Porter Doors Limited. The Group continues to grow both organically and through acquisition under the direction of Mr Roy Wakeman, Group Chief Executive Chairman.
