Global building products manufacturer, Sika, will be launching ComfortFloor, a revolutionary new liquid applied vinyl floor system that creates seamless floors combined with noise suppression, durability and decorative properties at Ecobuild 2010.

Tipped to radically change the future of interior flooring, ComfortFloor is an attractive alternative to traditional vinyl flooring and carpet. An easily applied, high performance liquid, it offers several desirable benefits.

Over time, conventional vinyl flooring can shrink and split, trapping dirt and requiring extensive repair work. ComfortFloor is a completely seamless solution that doesn’t shrink or split. Virtually maintenance free, its flawless finish removes the risk of trip hazards normally associated with the wear and tear of vinyl flooring.

Designed for interior use, ComfortFloor is particularly suitable for environments where hygiene is of paramount importance. Resistant to cracks and splits, the surface remains intact and is therefore easy to keep clean, preventing the transmission of diseases such as the hospital superbug MRSA. This distinct hygiene advantage can benefit a whole host of settings from hospitals to schools and nurseries.

ComfortFloor is also particularly effective in commercial and public spaces with a high footfall. Soft underfoot, it has excellent noise suppression properties, offering high impact sound insulation as well as optimum comfort. Coupled with super strong wear and impact resistance – with a proven resilience against chair casts – ComfortFloor is extremely durable, with superb crack-bridging qualities.

Designed to conform, meet and exceed all the latest stringent European legislation with regards to environmental air quality in an inhabited area, ComfortFloor is ideally suited for indoor applications. It has been “Indoor quality and its impact on man” – AgBB tested in accordance with the international cleanliness class ISO 14644-part 8.

With four systems on offer – Coloured Elastic Screed, Coloured Sound Insulating Screed, Decorative Elastic Screed and Decorative Sound Insulating Elastic Screed – ComfortFloor offers flexibility in system build up to serve any number of requirements and demands, including comfort, design and cost.

Mark Bushell, Regional Sales Manager in the North for Sika Ltd said: "This is an exciting development in floor resin technology, giving clients a truly seamless vinyl surface – thus avoiding all the headaches of vinyl seam splits. This is also an exciting development for Sika, as the first of a number of decorative resin floors to be launched this year."

Easy to apply and available in a wide range of colours, ComfortFloor is the latest addition to Sika’s extensive range of solutions that solve a variety of common problems with long-lasting results.
