Two Product Group Managers and one Product Manager from BSS Industrial are top of the class when it comes to procurement, with each completing NVQ courses recognised by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
All of the Managers studied for the NVQ’s in their spare time, improving their own purchasing and supply skills to bring a higher level of service and expertise to BSS Industrial
. The two year course also means that eligible graduates are now fully accredited CIPS members. One such successful student was Dave Taylor, Product Manager for Metal Pipe
Systems who completed an NVQ level 4 in supply chain management.
Dave commented: “The CIPS qualification was a great way to expand my own knowledge whilst maximising the service and efficiency I can provide to our branches and ultimately customers on a daily basis. The arrival of my twin boys in the middle of the course made studying a bit more difficult, but I was spurred on by the fact that the course content was so relevant to my job. I was extremely pleased to be given the opportunity to further myself and learn new skills that will benefit both my future career as well as BSS Industrial
Sue Greatorex, Commercial Director at BSS Industrial
, added: “We set out to raise the knowledge, profile and procurement skills of our Product and Product Group Managers, with all of them rising to the challenge. Three of our Product Group Managers are still studying on the course, so we’re looking forward to celebrating the success of even more successful graduates in the future. CIPS is the recognised professional qualification for purchasing so it is a fantastic accreditation for them to have.
“We’ve also had additional requests from other members of staff who are now working to achieve different NVQ qualifications. This enthusiasm and dedication is testament to the quality of our team and the high standard of customer service we offer.”
Along with Dave Taylor, Dave Martin, Product Group Manager Metal Pipe Systems and Ed Kendall, Product Group Manager Valves & Controls completed NVQ courses.
