Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM – orange in colour, green by nature

Its components may be orange in colour but Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM is definitely green by nature thanks to the distinctive environmental benefits this perfect underfloor heating system possesses.

The unique design of this advanced system from Schlüter-Systems requires a 30% thinner screed, which helps distribute heat faster and with evenness. This is because the thin patented structure of the ceramic thermal floor allows it to respond to temperature changes that much quicker thanks to the connected air channels within the Schlüter®-DITRA membrane. This in turn uses less energy, making Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM more efficient than other traditional underfloor heating systems.

Its low supply temperature of approximately 30°C, compared to the more conventional 50°C or the 70-90°C in some radiator systems, means Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM is extremely effective both with conventional heat generation methods and regenerative energy sources such as heat pumps or solar panels.
Along with night control settings this not only protects the environment even more by saving energy, but also reduces heating bills for the end user.

Ian Knifton, Divisional Manager at Coalville-based Schlüter-Systems Ltd, says, “The modular system that makes up Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM stands out as being economical, effective and energy efficient. Its unique design, in our trademark orange colouring, achieves a balance of the varied construction, physics and heating technology requirements placed on heated floors and is suitable for virtually any surface covering or room size, meaning that there is simply no other system like it.”

He added, “We firmly believe inventions should make life easier and Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM certainly does that, whilst saving the consumer money too and helping the environment.”

From a construction perspective Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM is quick to install due to less material being used than in other systems; highly durable, with loads in private and commercial buildings up to 5kN/m2; and has proven suitability, with damage free practical application for several years as certified by a number of independent institutes.

As well as its performance and ease of use, what makes Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM really stand out from the crowd is its five year assembly warranty. Unlike other systems, which just provide component warranties, Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM customers can have the peace of mind that our warranty covers the whole floor assembly therefore adding additional safety and benefits to this innovative system.
