Saint-Gobain Pam UK Showcases Superior Access Covers Range At Traffex 2013

Iron technology leader Saint-Gobain PAM UK, part of leading materials company Saint-Gobain, will be showcasing its innovative access covers product range at Traffex 2013, the 26th international traffic engineering, road safety and highway maintenance exhibition, to be held at the NEC in Birmingham between 16-18 April.

The Saint-Gobain PAM UK team will be available on stand Z40 to discuss the company’s extensive product range, which can deliver not only significant improvements in road safety but also security – now a critical factor in product specification due to the ongoing issue of metal theft for scrap value – through integrated security features.

Key products on display include the Opt-Emax and AquaVantage access covers. Health and safety is recognised as being a central concern for companies operating buried networks that require regular access. As a result, Saint-Gobain PAM UK has developed Opt-Emax, a range of one-man operable access covers. Each triangular cover section is independently hinged, considerably reducing effort required when lifting compared with traditional access covers. Once opened, the hinge blocks at 900, preventing accidental closure.

As the intensity of traffic on the roads increases and weather conditions become even more changeable, specifying and installing high-quality, durable drainage products has never been more important. AquaVantage has been created to include a large waterway clearing of 2250cm2, able to cope with the highest levels of rainfall, and an intelligently-designed water disruption area as part of the unit. This makes the flow of water more uniform and manageable, allowing a greater volume of water to pass through the grating.

Paul Thompson, marketing manager – municipal castings of Saint-Gobain PAM UK, commented: “As a key supplier of ductile iron access covers to the UK’s key highways, civil engineering and construction sectors, our products have been developed to deliver exceptionally cost-effective road maintenance solutions. We encourage a collaborative approach with our customers and our aim is to fully understand our stakeholders’ requirements, offering fully-considered solutions that prioritise road safety, health and safety for operators, asset security and whole life costs.”
