Leonardo’s was virtually part of the fabric of Hull’s Princes Quay shopping centre from the day it opened. With a new location, menu and make over, Leonardo’s has now improved its customers’ comfort with the help of Zapp
Now located a few yards across the water Leonardo’s, a bistro-pub, boasts a seating area of 100 people, inside and out.
With a recent rejuvenation to the surrounding area, Leonardo’s along with three other restaurant units has been able to maximise the use of its outdoor areas with Zapp
’s adjustable glass screens (AGS
), which has encouraged customers to stay out later in the evening. Zapp
was contracted for installing the screens by private equity real estate company, CIT group, who bought Princes Quay shopping centre for £71 million back in April 2010.
Comfort and relaxation is key for any customer dining at Leonardo’s and with the breeze coming from the quayside river, AGS
can block the chilly wind by adjusting its height. Therefore on a sunnier day the screens can be lowered whilst keeping customers protected.
Not only does this increase security, it’s a great way to increase revenue - the longer the customer stays in a relaxing area, the more money they will spend.
Paul Gregory, owner of Leonardo’s, championed the idea of the screens after seeing them transform a cold blustery street in Norway, commenting, “AGS
has totally transformed the deck side area. Leonardo’s and the other restaurants have seen an increase in customers and turnover. It has given us a great physical presence from Hull centre and has become a lovely attraction offering continental style dining. Zapp
has been totally professional from the start and extremely helpful.”
Paul was so happy with the success of the AGS
screens that he purchased three giant umbrellas from Zapp
to offer shade to his customers on sunny days.
