At the end of 2011 Click Scolmore announced the launch of an ambitious investment plan that will see its lighting division grow significantly over the next five years and contribute to the substantial growth the company is predicting in the period to 2016.
At the heart of the new strategy was the creation of a brand new umbrella brand for lighting - OVIA - under which all lighting ranges will operate, including the Energetic low-energy collection, award-winning Flameguard downlighters, Fumagalli outdoor lighting solutions and Click Lighting.
The collaboration towards the end of 2010 year with Energetic, the world’s leading low energy lighting manufacturer provided a major boost, allowing the company to offer the biggest selection of highly-competitive, energy saving solutions currently available from one supplier.
With the huge strides that have been made in the technological advancement of low energy lighting in recent years - particularly with the rise of the LED - coupled with the requirements to achieve Part L compliance, Click Scolmore believes it is well positioned to provide solutions that meet all the relevant cost and energy efficiency criteria.
Key to the success of the OVIA lighting division in achieving the ambitions set out will be the investment in a dedicated lighting team, including specialist designers, plus an aggressive new product development programme which will see numerous products added to the growing portfolio. In 2011 alone, more than 100 low energy products were introduced.
