With the increase in demand amongst contractors and developers for doorsets, JELD-WEN has extended its range to include its new Mackintosh, Kensington Plus and latest styles of composite doors.

Doorsets are renowned for being quicker and easier to fit and JELD-WEN has recognised the need to make the whole process as simple and cost effective as possible. In addition, doorsets can provide a much better quality installed effect because all the ironmongery including hinges, handles and letter plates are pre-fitted in the factory, which significantly speeds up installation times on site.

Ian Mallory, Doorset Sales Manager at JELD-WEN, explains: “We can now offer customers a full range of external and internal doorsets in a wide range of styles and designs to suit most tastes and budgets. The new doorsets are already starting to prove popular as customers appreciate the fact they are delivered to site on call off.”

JELD-WEN has also added a new lobby or hallway entrance doorset for flats to its range, which is perfect for use in both social and private sector apartments. This doorset is available in either a ply flush, veneer flush or moulded panel design, with a laminated interior core, as well as being 44mm thick and FD30 certified. All laminated flat entrance doorsets are supplied with multi-point security lock and adjustable keep, for enhanced security for occupants. In addition each door is fitted with a viewer as standard.

To combat noise pollution, each door is also supplied with an adjustable acoustic drop seal in the rail at the bottom of the door. All flat entrance doors are extremely robust and are held within the frame by steel hinges in a choice of gold or silver effect. Frames are pre-finished and include smoke and intumescent seals already integrated to the head and jambs, to prevent smoke inhalation. All these doors meet with the Association of Chief Police Officers Secured by Design standard.

With the skills shortage on site and increasing pressure on contractors to speed up installation of doors, doorset are continuing to rise in popularity.

All internal doorsets are provided shrink wrapped to suit specific plots, or individually in the case of external doorsets. Hinges and locks are also provided with each door. Special sizes are available, depending on certain parameters and door types.

JELD-WEN delivers doorsets on call-off according to plot numbers to suit project deadlines. This is carefully monitored to ensure they arrive neither too soon or too late, providing greater convenience and reducing risk of damage occurring on site.

JELD-WEN also supplies detailed support documentation, giving the client full visibility of activity as well as helping them meet build schedules.

Ian Mallory continues: “As contractors and developers working with housing associations and local authorities seek to meet the ever increasing demands of the new regulations, combined with the challenge of the skills shortage on site, we offer a complete solution to meet their needs. Our purpose-designed doorsets take the hassle out of fitting doors. We have made the service both simple and effective by working closely with contractors and developers to meet their schedules.”

“Our ultimate aim is to maximise accuracy and minimise risk to the product on site, ensuring a more accurate fit, increasing customer satisfaction and reducing callbacks.”
