New sales manager supports growth at renewable energy specialist Stiebel Eltron

Renewable energy specialist Stiebel Eltron UK has appointed a new sales manager for the Midlands and South Yorkshire regions.

Tony Preston will be tasked with bringing in new installer partners, developing existing relationships with installers and creating new business and sales opportunities.

Merseyside based Stiebel Eltron UK is a leading microgeneration products manufacturers, offering the most up to date heat pump, solar PV and solar thermal heating solutions. It has a global turnover of more than 500m Euros, employing more than 3,000 staff worldwide.

Tony, 39, has more than seven years of experience in the renewable energy sector with specialist knowledge of ground and air source heat pump technology.

Tony, who has a degree in Law from Sheffield Hallam University, worked in sales and marketing for a variety of national companies before moving into the green energy industry in 2007.

He said: “Stiebel Eltron is a very well-respected name in the industry with high quality products, so I am delighted to be given this opportunity. I will be working closely with Stiebel Eltron UK’s installer partners, helping to grow their businesses and deliver the best solutions on domestic and commercial projects.

“I truly believe that renewable energy is the way forward and that heat pump technology offers a wealth of benefits to property owners. Since I started working in renewables the sector has grown significantly; despite the well-document setbacks, I have always remained positive and am very optimistic that with the RHI coming in we will see continued growth.

“Having built up a wealth of contacts, I cannot wait to get started and learn about Stiebel’s product range – as well as ground and air source heat pumps we also have a fantastic variety of hot water and electric heating systems that can provide significant energy and cost savings.

“The business is growing rapidly and the senior management team share my ambitions – this is a fantastic opportunity for me to make my own mark and build the brand even further.”

Mark McManus, Stiebel Eltron UK managing director, said: “We have had a good start to 2014 and bringing Tony in will help us to enhance and develop customer relationships in the Midlands and South Yorkshire. He has an excellent knowledge of heat pumps and with his drive and ambition, Tony is a great fit for the company.

“There is a growing demand for microgeneration in the UK and bringing in another regional manager will allow us to explore more installation opportunities, and of course improve our service to clients.”

Tony, who is from Rotherham, added: “My first aim is to learn as much as I can about Stiebel Eltron’s technology – I’m looking forward to going out to work alongside our installer partners and gaining a ‘hands on’ working knowledge of our products.

“Many of the areas in my patch are also off the gas network, which means the properties could save a lot of money using heat pump systems. This will be a key message for me moving forward.”
