New Hanson Technical Service Meets Needs of Specifiers

Hanson has launched a ground-breaking new support service which provides specifiers with access to a team of technical building products experts – by telephone, email or instant messaging.


The company’s Walling Solutions Technical Centre brings together seven specialists at its Measham site in Leicestershire. Between them they offer extensive knowledge and expertise across all aspects of structural design advice, construction practice, sustainability, legislation and product specification.


The launch is part of Hanson’s commitment to continually improving the service it offers its customers and follows extensive research with specifiers. It is supported by a dedicated website,, which encourages dialogue and information sharing between like-minded professionals as well as being the platform for accessing interactive features such as live chat, the U-value calculator and brick and block selector.


Paul Rogatzki, who heads up the team, said: “Hanson offers the most comprehensive range of brick, block and cladding materials on the market and our new, customer-focused service means that there is now one point of contact for all building product technical requirements.


“Experts are available from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and our dedicated website provides a wealth of information as well as access to our online blog, U-value calculator, technical resources and much more. We can also arrange face-to-face meetings and offer project contract management if required.”


Among the services the team offers are:


  • Advice on Building Regulations and Codes of Practice
  • U-value calculations
  • SAP and EPC assessments
  • Structural design advice and engineering advice
  • Masonry (brick and block) solutions
  • Material scheduling.


The centre also provides support for other areas of the Hanson business including Red Bank flue systems and flooring.
